Want The Discount?
We will credit $50 off of your Rent The Chicken or adoption for every friend referred who Rents The Chicken. Credits can never be refunded as cash and can never be used for more than one Rental Season at a time.
Additional Notes
Our Standard Coops are about 31" wide while our Deluxe Coops are about 57" wide. Both easily roll from on our trailer to most backyards. If your property requires the coop to be lifted over a wall or fence due to your gate being less than 31 or 57" wide, we'll need for you to commit a member of your household to help our Homesteaders lift the coop. If for one reason or another the coop cannot be lifted, our coops can be delivered un-assembled ($60) or partially assembled ($40). The predetermined fee is for both delivery and pick-up.
Possible additional fees: Due to the increase of feed cost and fuel cost, closer to delivery, there may be a slight surcharge for one or both of these items.
Possible Transportation Fees
Our Rental Packages include FREE DELIVERY to much of Northern Virginia and the Washington DC suburbs - including everywhere from Alexandria to Winchester and down I-95 to Thornburg and north to Rockville and Silver Spring and within 50 miles of Manassas, VA 20112. If you live further than 50 miles of Manassas, VA 20112, you may incur a predetermined transportation fee. For customers outside of our FREE DELIVERY area, please call us toll-free at 844-310-8782 for a delivery quote.

Homestead Glenda & Homestead Kate are now serving Northern Virginia and the Greater Washington DC Area including the Maryland subburbs with Rent The Chicken and Hatch The Chicken through their farm: Tis No Yolk. Their love of poultry started in 1998 when they began raising chickens and turkeys as 4H projects and ultimately income. Homestead Kate's pet turkey helps protect their flock from predators along with George the pig! They have teamed up with Rent The Chicken so you can love and care for hens as much as they do. While the eggs are great - chickens are just FUN! As for hatching, those who have the experience of hatching baby chicks can tell you that it's a memory you'll treasure for years! They believe farm-fresh eggs are an experience that can be available even in urban areas and would love to share their experiences with you.
At Rent The Chicken, our mission is to help families and communities reconnect with their food through the experience of backyard chickens. Across our network of homesteads and partner farms, we’re proud to offer Rent The Chicken and Hatch The Chicken programs that make keeping chickens fun, educational, and accessible. Each of our team members brings a passion for sustainability, hands-on learning, and sharing the joy that comes from fresh eggs and happy hens.
