Additional Notes
Possible Transportation Fees:Our Rental Packages include DELIVERY to a specific area of Los Angeles based on the boundaries in the Map below as well as within 50 miles of Agua Dulce, CA 91390. If you live outside of the boundaries, you can pickup from the farm in Agua Dulce, CA 91390 or at a designated meeting location at the beginning of the rental and at the end of the rental. Designated meeting places to the south include Culver City, Pasadena, and Los Angeles.
Possible Additional Fees: Due to the increase of feed cost and fuel cost, closer to delivery, there may be a slight surcharge for one or both of these items.
Hatch The Chicken renters who are participating in Rent The Chicken with coordinated delivery or pick-up of both Rent The Chicken and Hatch The Chicken receive a $25 discount.
Agua Dulce, California - Homestead Victoria serves the Greater Los Angeles Area with Rent The Chicken and Hatch The Chicken from her farm, Lively Little Farm. Lively Little Farm’s mission is to connect people with their food, their community, and the land we share by bringing small-scale agriculture into homes and neighborhoods. Homestead Victoria started with a small flock of three hens in her suburban backyard in Redwood City, CA, but soon her farm dreams and her family outgrew the space. In 2022 she and her family purchased a small, 2.5 acre, farm in Agua Dulce, a small town in northern Los Angeles County. Later that year, Lively Little Farm became an affiliate of Rent The Chicken and Hatch The Chicken. Homestead Victoria looks forward to supporting customers with her firsthand experience keeping backyard chickens and sharing the joy they bring.
What happens to the chicks?
Here are a number of scenarios as to what happens to the baby chicks after our Hatch The Chicken program is complete:

We can't confirm what other organizations do with their baby chicks after a hatching program but we know with our whole hearts that all of the chicks hatched with our Hatch The Chicken program provide a purpose following the rental. We value their lives and value what they bring to our business and those who participate in our programs.
