Pittsgrove, New Jersey - Homestead Mike and Judy with their family are providing Rent The Chicken to all of New Jersey.  Their chicken adventure started years ago when Homestead Judy convinced Homestead Mike (after many months) that they should get a few chickens for their tiny backyard.  They soon discovered the amazing joy and happiness that comes with caring for their own chickens. They enjoyed getting fresh eggs everyday and their kids, who were small at the time, had a lot of fun having baby chicks and chickens.  You will be surprised how peaceful and rewarding it is to raise chickens.  One big surprise is that chickens aren’t just carbon copies of each other. They have different personalities. Seriously, you’ll just have to see for yourself! In May of 2025, they were blessed to move from their small backyard to 7 ½ acres.  They now have many sweet hens and are selling eggs locally.  It's great knowing what the hens are eating because they choose the feed and the hens are free ranging daily, eating all sorts of good stuff.  Besides the high quality eggs with rich, gorgeous, deep, golden yellow yolks, Homestead Judy especially loves “beautiful” eggs.  One of her greatest pleasures is seeing eggshells in varying shades of blue, green and brown.  They are egg-cited to offer you beautiful chickens and eggs and hope you will find as much enjoyment as they do in having your own chickens.
