Our all-inclusive program provides fertilized eggs, an incubator, a brooder, feed, and full support—no farm or prior experience required. It’s a joyful, mess-free way to bring the miracle of new life to your family.

Possible Transportation Fees:

Our Hatch The Chicken rental includes FREE DELIVERY within 50 miles of Kansas City, MO 64153. If you live further than 50 miles of Kansas City, MO 64153, you may incur a predetermined transportation fee. For customers outside of our FREE DELIVERY area, please call us toll-free at 844-310-8782 for a delivery quote.

Possible Additional Fees: Due to the increase of feed cost and fuel cost, closer to delivery, there may be a slight surcharge for one or both of these items.

Hatch The Chicken renters who are participating in Rent The Chicken with coordinated delivery or pick-up of both Rent The Chicken and Hatch The Chicken receive a $25 discount.

What happens to the chicks?

Here are a number of scenarios as to what happens to the baby chicks after our Hatch The Chicken program is complete:

The girls are raised to be hens for Rent The Chicken
The girls are raised as breeding stock for Hatch The Chicken
The boys are raised to be roosters to fertilize eggs for Hatch The Chicken
The girls are raised to lay eggs for our families
The boys are raised to protect our flocks to help keep them safe
The chicks are sold to families looking to expand their flocks
The roosters are sold to families looking to protect their flock

Kansas City, Missouri - Homestead Nina and her son Homestead Michael, AKA The Chick Magnet, are serving the Kansas City Metro area with Rent The Chicken and Hatch The Chicken from their small farm Tiffany Traditions Farmstead. Nina raises her chickens the same way her grandmother did on the same small farm almost a hundred years ago. The flock free-ranges on wooded pasture, protected by the roosters and 2 livestock dogs. Nina is a Home Educator and has raised her children with the same appreciation for traditional ways and caring for the land. Their Farmstead offerings are growing and they are egg-static to bring Rent The Chicken and Hatch The Chicken to the area and help teach others traditional family homesteading and getting started with backyard chickens.

We can't confirm what other organizations do with their baby chicks after a hatching program but we know with our whole hearts that all of the chicks hatched with our Hatch The Chicken program provide a purpose following the rental. We value their lives and value what they bring to our business and those who participate in our programs.
